All the tunes are played out of standard G tuning without the use of a capo. When I first saw the goatskin, I wasn’t sure if it was what I was looking for but I tried it out, it’s pretty much perfect, I make traditional Yupik drums that come from southwest Alaska, in my language, the Yugtun, language we call out drums a cauyaq, and the drum head is traditionally a stomach membrane of a walrus or seal. As someone who lives in modern age, we have contemporary styles and goatskin is one of our contemporary style. For this application it works great.
I read about sistrums in a fantasy adventure book and had to have one! Lark listed one I could afford that combines old crafting techniques with bottle caps! The delivery was quick. I played around with it and was surprised at all the different chimes and riffs it could make. Right now it is displayed with my also-African-made soda can lion. I'm happy!
