American Conservatory mandolins were produced by Lyon & Healy in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This one comes to us from the estate of Mickie Zekley, founder of Lark in the Morning. It features some nice abalone inlay around the soundhole and binding. The light-colored stave lines are painted on. We cleaned it up, leveled the frets, and replaced the strings.

It plays well and has a nice, punchy sound (see video).
