Introducing the Wildwood Dulcimer, a versatile and lightweight instrument that combines the rich sound of a mountain dulcimer with a hint of banjo twang. Its unique body style allows for guitar-like playability, moving away from the traditional "flat in the lap" position. The teardrop spruce soundboard, adorned with three rosettes, beautifully contrasts with the long, slender sheesham fingerboard. With an overall length of 34 1/2", width of 7", and height of 2 1/2", this dulcimer is designed for both comfort and performance.
The Wildwood Dulcimer features four string courses with loop end strings, including a wound string at the top and two unwound strings tuned in unison at the bottom. While various tunings are possible, the traditional DADD tuning is recommended for ease of play. The diatonic scale fret arrangement, enhanced by the "6 1/2" fret, offers a wide range of musical possibilities, allowing for play in Ionian mode. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, the Wildwood Dulcimer invites you to explore its musical potential. Order now and experience the joy of playing this exceptional instrument!

This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
Beautiful amazing instrument! Easy and fun to play! Highly recommended! Great customer service and fast shipping!!
Jackie arrived, nicely packed and in rapid order... much lighter than I expected, thank goodness as the instrument is attached to the player by their thumbs (and mine are kind of old).
I never thought that it would be so challenging for me to learn play ... so different from anything I've tried before... I can feel the neurons in my brain sparking and protesting. Actually, it feels good to build new pathways. The cat is none too pleased with my new endeavor. However, Jackie is a beautiful instrument, well made and of good quality. I'm sure, in time, we'll become the best of friends.
Thanks to all at Lark in the Morning for making my experience so pleasant and trouble free. <3
The external Twin Spot works great on my Irish Bouzouki. I've scotched taped the pickup heads and wires it in place for easy adjustment, and the pick up sensitivity is very good. I'm running it through my guitar DI box for increased sensitivity and tone control.
I think that every household should have a buffalo horn. We are now the proud owners of a fine horn which we obtained from Lark in the morning. It will be handy for calling in the children from play, and signaling to the neighbors across the river.
