This entry-level Dusty Strings hammered dulcimer is built with a laminated Finland birch soundboard and back, giving it stability and a sweet, balanced sound. Extending the standard 2½ octave range downward, this instrument opens up a wider choice of playing keys and affords greater versatility in arranging melodies and harmonies.
The Overture is available as an instrument only (including hammers and a tuning wrench) or as a package with a nice padded case and folding sit-down stand, providing a complete ready-to-go option. There is also the option to choose black finish instead of the standard clear lacquer.
Includes T-handle tuning wrench, regular single-sided wooden hammers, note guide strips, and owner's guidebook.

I use the Susato Oriole Whistle head with PVC, bamboo, or carbon fiber whistle bodies that I make. The Susato head is precision made and helps my whistles to sound great.
When I first saw the goatskin, I wasn’t sure if it was what I was looking for but I tried it out, it’s pretty much perfect, I make traditional Yupik drums that come from southwest Alaska, in my language, the Yugtun, language we call out drums a cauyaq, and the drum head is traditionally a stomach membrane of a walrus or seal. As someone who lives in modern age, we have contemporary styles and goatskin is one of our contemporary style. For this application it works great.
I read about sistrums in a fantasy adventure book and had to have one! Lark listed one I could afford that combines old crafting techniques with bottle caps! The delivery was quick. I played around with it and was surprised at all the different chimes and riffs it could make. Right now it is displayed with my also-African-made soda can lion. I'm happy!
Nice sound
This was my first ever Hardanger, so I basically wanted a "Squier" version of a Hardanger: an entry level Hardanger to learn on that was new and solid but wouldn't break the bank. This has been pretty much perfect and just what I wanted.I love playing it.
