Playing this masterpiece is like walking into a welcome dream. Very easy to play, can go fast, can get loud. It can kitten purr or get jazz trumpet snazzy. The volume and the overblow quality exceed ones expectations, given the relatively smaller bell. Definitely a pro level didge, and yet perfect for travel at just under 5 feet long and only four pounds of heft.
Like most didges with the first overtone on the octave, it is super controllable and can grab the overtone trumpets with ease. Three useable trumpets can be powered up at any moment in any order. Now that is a perfect bore, and that is normal Jeff Lohr stuff.
This is a 10 out of 10 didge, without any doubt. Jeff is a master wood worker with a knack for nailing every sound column. He always has a solid plan when he hollows out a stick.
As I mentioned in the didge lecture, a bell that is non-circular has an advantage. The wider part amplifies more bass, and the slender part amplifies more treble. How 'bout a perfect oval? And I mean perfect. So perfect it is like it grew on there. And of course it matches the mouthpiece perfectly. Both the bell ring and the mouthpiece have an inner ring set of: Birch - skinny Ebony - Birch, then a thick steak juicy outer ring of Rosewood. I believe the blonde wood is birch, but it could be cypress.

The DG-255 I received from Lark in the Morning was easily as beautiful as presented. The padded gig bag is a huge plus as well.
The guitar is a solid and has a bigger, more forward sound than I'd anticipated which suits me just fine. It plays easily, surely even more so after I have a guitar tech get it set up for me.
Nice people, excellent service, quick shipping. Nothing not to like here.
This whistle has a beautiful, warm tone and is very responsive. I have used a variety of whistles (including other Kerry whistles), and this one is my favorite to play. While recording my latest album, I needed a whistle in this key pretty quickly, and Lark in the Morning had this delivered to me within a few days. I highly recommend this instrument, and Lark in the Morning is a fantastic place to purchase from with excellent customer service.
I already play a mountain lap dulcimer, but this one gives the instrument a whole different dimension to playing. Really beautiful craftsmanship. Thus isn’t a toy, but a lovely wooden instrument. Very easy to play!
Multifacsited approach to something fun to do!
Plays like a dream. I have MS and am no longer able to play guitar, but this uke let's me play songs again and sing. I had no idea how much I'd missed having music in my body. Thanks, Lark!
